Ginger
Key Actions: Carminative, Anti-emetic, Anti-parasitic and spasmolytic
Ginger root is very warming, and for centuries it has been used to improve circulation and reduce inflammation. As a general tonic it is especially well suited for animals that tend to be cold and phlegmy because it is warm and drying.
Internally
It is a digestive stiumlant, increasing circulation to the intestine. It is also often used as an "envoy herb" facilitating the delivery of other herbs to their target sites. It is also useful for treating nausea, and should be considered as an option post surgery or chemotherapy.
Externally
When applied to the skin, ginger helps improve the blood supply to the area. The increased blood supply helps to reduce swelling, remove any toxins and to encourage tissue healing.
